User-Contributed Transcription Writings of Charlotte Elizabeth of whom/which you speak I am quite unacquainted with. I think her a strong sectarian, Episcopalian i guess. Though I remember she was very religious. Somehow I have impression that are not just the thing. May be mistaken. Guess however they are about of that half way medium class of writings under which most come, which I don't think much of reading. A. R. Field, Head. I. S. Metcalf Surveyor J. Orcutt & F. A. Tenney Chainman; F. Fisher Chopper, R. H. Holton, Target & Chopper. To better the business for me, the compasses were out of order, & I had to use a Transit. Then Field was called away & I was left head of all for three days. Rather a responsible, or difficult situation, Surveyor on a route entirely new without any one to go ahead to look out the route. Moreover, it was the worst place on the whole line worst country I every saw. However I made out better than I expected, better than Field expected And after we got out of the Dummerston Ravines I would not have given a snap for Field to tell me the country ahead.
