User-Contributed Transcription I suffered a good deal of pain, for more than I ever knew anything about before: But I might have been a good deal worse off. There were some kind people there, the Sons of Temperance came) looked after me, and the Doctor whom I found there was a very pleasant and kind man. So on the whole my sickness was nothing very bad. Nothing that can hurt me permanently, only ten days and cost me but whole twenty dollars. It was the first time I ever really suffered pain, and I shall now I believe how to prize exemption from it in future:As you may suppose I am not much inclined to try horseback riding again at once.I sold my horse and equipment at Hartsville, and came back here.I intend to go to Madison, by the Madison and Indianapolis R.R., which passes through this place, this afternoon. From there the Steamboats, which run in connection with the cars will take me to Cincinnata in twelve hours. I intend to stop in Cincinnati over the Sabbath. And from there I suppose could be any where in New England in a day or a few days or two. However, my sister Anne's vacation at Westfield commences the first of July. I suppose she would like to have me to go East with her.So I may turn aside next week and make a visit to Zanesville, Ohio, where I have some Relatives, and reach Westfield about July 1st. I shall expect to find letters for me at Westfield both from You, friends at Bangor & from Illinois.                                                                                      Sincerely,                                                                                            I.S.M.
