Dear Brother Charles
I have been wishing today to hear from you. I fear I shall not unless I write to you. I have very little to write though. I had a comfortable journey from Bangor with Mayo. He is quite a traveller I assure you. It would amuse you to see his anxiety for the carpet bag & umbrella, & lest we should lose the train at a stopping place or change of cars. We went to Lowel and stopped half a day. Saw Uncle Enoch Metcalf & wife, who live with Isaac [[?]] who is appears very pleasantly situated; has a fine house with about two acres of land just in the edge of city; fine garden, & lots of fancy poultry. (A pair of Seabright Bantams about as large as doves valued at $25.00 His business you know is music. Teaches music in the city schools, gives
