User-Contributed Transcription they got the next train, due at 3 45 P.M., by the wreck. Friday a train ran off the track at Ramsey near Vandalia, yesterday another at Tacusah, in fact the Road is decidedly unfortunate just now; far worse than it has ever been before.   The Preaching today does not amount to much, being the Campbellite bretheren, Dr Fundy, the horse jockey. Did I tell you the story of his swapping a one hundred & fifty dollar gold watch for a nice horse; and the watch proving to be a galvanized affair he had bought for twenty dollars. The other preacher was Elder Heeps, I do not know whether you ever saw him, lives up near Rootz, a big blustering horse jockey of a Campbellite. But I expect either Peter Flagler or Mr Winn, a Methodist Mechanic, excellent man so called, resident here, will preach this evening. The prospect now is that there will be four churches built here this Season. Peter Flagler is about building him a house here. It bids fair ~ the Village - to have a great variety of morality and religion in it.   Well, Love & Kisses   Isaac
