User-Contributed Transcription June 7th, I got up so late yesterday morning that I did not send these letters, as I intened. To make up for this negligence I am up betimes this morning; & have an hour or two before any one else is stirring. At first I intended to let Mother write also & send together with this, but I guess it is hardly best to wait. She has gone over the River to Mrs Dickinson's, just as I got through with a weeks work on that side of the river. How my work is all in another direction, and I cannot see her very conveniently. I am goining to enclose a parcel of letters addressed to you Bangor folks in one wrapper: Whoever receives it first, must distribute to the rest. What is Lucy's direction; Bangor or Hampden? I saw several about here haying yesterday: Cutting the first Crop, a pretty good one too, on the "Home lots", about their Orchards, fruiteries &c. I wonder if Charles has got the cattle fairly shot out of the Intervals yet.(Vide page 2)You asked me once how i was going to find my "Able Man", in whom is the "divine right" to govern., Most fortunately, that is not my business! or yours. If he cannot find himself {as Oliver did} I would give little for his Claim. By the way; of this same, a piece in my tribune. Liberty putting up at Auction in Europe Crowns, coronets, sceptres, & thrones. "property of gentlemen going into other business, no further use for them" you know. Sale rather dull, no demand; fools cap at school; potatoe dishes &c
