User-Contributed Transcription You have heard the whistling of "Coons" then at the West. I never head them except about here.I did not get any chance to go hunting. Perhaps it was hardly best, as I can get exercise enough in my business and should look to more quiet occupations for my relaxation, or recreation. You inquire when I shall be likely to emerge from these recesses. As long as my Party is in the Field, it is about impossible for me to get away even for half of a day. Any other one can be spared, but if I am absent all must stop. So you can see that I am really of some consequence in one place at least! However I think we begin to see through and it is very possible that our out of door work here may soon be finished up for the present.I am as yet though almost entirely ignorant of the plans of those who decide upon our advances. I do not know whether they will be able to proceed or not.  But I must stop - it is half past ten o clock before I thought of it, and I am obliged to be an early riser, in these times. My love to all, especially Antoinette                                                                Sincerely I.S. Metcalf
