User-Contributed Transcription a little while in the morning while he sleeps and gather plants. We have several of the best books, and descriptions of plants, with which we compare, then describe any new ones, and preserve specimens.  The Botany of this region is quite various, and has never been much examined. Joseph says we shall be obliged to publish a Botany or "Flora" of "Cedar Grove"  Cedar Grove is a name given to this place from a beautiful grove of Cedar trees near the house. Joseph can do little but look, but he is much interested in our researches, and very thorough in his acquaintance with the vegetable world, or at least that part of it that he has ever seen.  I am very fond of Natural History in any of its branches. Viewing animated or vegetable nature as the work of God. the almost infinite manifestation of his benevolence and greatness, we may apply to them Dr. Young's celebrated saying about Astronomy. "The undevout Astronomer is mad." We may say the same of the Student of Natural history. You will be glad to hear that the good people of Milo are to have constant Evangelical preaching for the future.  Partly by the aid of the Maine Missionary Society, a graduate of Bangor Theol. Sem. is to preach here three fourths of the time, while a pretty good Free Will Baptist preacher is to occupy the other fourth of the time.Mr. Temple who is here this week, and who boards with us, is very much interested in the state of things here. He thinks there have been eight or ten hopeful conversions within three months, among them two of Sister Almeda's children. Of course we rejoice
