You may find it interesting to compare the developement of some of Shakespeare's characters with their delineations by this author.Of so, you will give me great pleasure by accepting the book.A year or two since when my sister was reading Shakespeare, I procured her a copy of Mrs. Jameson's 'Characteristics', and got this for myself, in order to enjoy a mutual examination of some of the characters, writing to one another our observations and reflections. And we were very much pleased with it.All things in it, as in Shakespeare itself, may not be exactly to my taste, or to yours; but it contains much thought and well expressed.We cannot always in this world find only that with which we can fully agree.
