Ohio Oct. 3s 1858.Dear Mother I believe we have got no letter from you, since I was there a month ago, and we begin - or rather continue to want to hear from you. Eliab has written once or twice about the sickness of their little ones. Wish you would write frequently; think you better some out here pretty soon. We are all pretty well; especially the children who are as fat and hearty & stout as you may imagine. Charlie hardly goes alone much yet; though he gets up alone in the floor, & takes a few steps sometimes, but usually thinks it safer to keep a chair by him, which he lifts over a threshhold or any impediment, & goes on again.Wilder goes to meeting some; but lately has cried once or twice, getting asleep & waking up cross. Perhaps we will not be able to have him go. But while we have two girls, he does not need to.
