User-Contributed Transcription at S.S. Will Young said his gloves were taken from his pocket at S.S. last Sunday. Did not go to Lake Ave. on account of storm and laziness. C.E. Theate Faxon led (?) Eve. Service Newcombe solo. Currier. Text Jo. 14.1 "Let not your heart be troubled: (1) believe in God (2) believe also in me." (1) in God. not an intellectual belief but trust in God as our father. Many have a secret unrecognized unbelief. The Psalms full of genuine trust in God. stories? to faith. Ps. 20. 23. 91. according as we believe in this care of God as a father will be our peace. "Thou wilt keep etc" (2) also in me. (a) only by faith in X is faith in God perfected + sustained. Light is a symbol of God. but light must have a medium. That is a symbol of God. That must be expressed by a word. X is the word. (b) faith in X changes our relation w God enemies. - reconciled. guilt - forgiveness sin - redemption. (c) only faith in X realize Power of Holy Spirit "thee that believe in me the works that I do etc." Only by faith in God can you have a tranquil heart If you would have a sustaining faith in God you must believe in X.
