User-Contributed Transcription Tues PM 3.o clock. Samuel Fisher just called me out of school to give me a letter confined in this. I going home tomorrow morning. If I can just get time I will go down there this morning to Mr Wingate's. I am dreadfully crowded for time just now, while the Writing school lasts every evening. Leave to recite at 6. PM Then W.S. till 9 or 1/2 past all taken up in school. If I can't be at school to have my lessons, as well as any.As for the school the District posted at a partial meeting to employ a male teacher, although perhaps a majority want Ann to keep Mr. Edes has by direction, applied to me to know my terms & board myself. I suppose they will give not much. I hardly know what to do. Whether to stand upon dignity & say 23 or 24, or try to get the school somehow. Thought of seeing how cheap I could get boarded. Ask the Parkers etc.. I should like to be here very well . I could study some, Mr Tash would help me. There is at school at the 4 corners, Foxcroft, I have spoke of. Perhaps I can get it for Joseph one morning best, last winter. I shall have more time when the writing school is over. I ought to take some time to see the folks; Olive Furber has been up here, I guess I have not had time to call there or to Miss Dennett or any of the rest of my scholars!! I have taken most to many studies, at least with visiting school it will not do for me to be backward on Com. or Declaim, you know got watch fixed & paid a quarter. Grammar class is coming. I should like that other pair of thin pants, if any of you come up. I don't like my boarding place first rate, but time no excuse to leave. What had I better do about the school. Cost much to go west,Mr. Isaac S. Metcalf FoxcroftForward by Mr. Furber
