User-Contributed Transcription Samuel, it seems. has not only bought his House lot, but is preparing to build. Well, good luck. The plan is very much the same as that of the house you now live in, is it not? That is, according to the sketch on the back of your letter. How does it differ? I should think it very convenient house for a small family. well adapted for comfort, rather than show, and at the same time rather economical for the amount.I highly approve of Eliab's Upham & Conquest of Mexico. but should recommend the Gammon in "broken doses," as the Doctors do Quinine; say instead of occasionally =, only "Semi=occasionally!I supposed Mary Tower was to be married and go away as a Missionary before this time. How is it?Is she engaged to ___ or not? If not, you will of course let me know; being in want of a wife, the information would be of interest to me. Mary is an extra nice little girl, and no mistake, and what is bad, such are scarce, - especially where ill fortune always calls me.Whether I shall stay here longer than till Jan. first is quite uncertain. If I leave then I expect my best course will be to go around by way of New Orleans at any rate, even if I do not conclude to stay there a while at least.I was intending to write to Eliab tonight, but I must put it off until Sabbath I think, and also to Anne from whom I also received one last night.Samuel I believe I shall not write to this time.I expect he owes me one or two now. This is half sheet but I am still in spite of that Aff. I.S.
