User-Contributed Transcription Milo, Maine, April 10th, 1850Dear Sister Your letter, which I had been long expecting was received here about a few days since: Via Goffstown, things remailed to Bangor and here. Of course it made a longer journey than usual. It arrived here the same day as one to Almeda did. I suppose you want the news if there were any. Joseph is just about the same. Thinks he grows a little weaker than he was two or three months ago.ne. Is taking the Homeopathic Medecines. Enjoys himself comfortably, reading, writing, playing Backgammon, talking & lounging. Mother appears to enjoy very good health this Spring, though she will persist in washing and doing all the hard work she can get a chance to. I wish you would write to her a good sound doctrinal letter on that topic, rebuking her nicely. Charles is just the same as usual, clever as corn, but a little lazy. Albina is taking care & pride of Charley; who under the various aliases of "Chuck", "bud", "Mischief", "Tim", "Stubborn" and others too numerous to mention, is one of the very best little fellows ever seen, busy as a bee, good natured as a bird, and obstinate as a Mule; bright as a dollar, but wont talk without he chooses, or gets cornered and cant help it. Almeda is comfortable. Lucy is dull, James is lazy, constitutionly so like Charles. Lizzie writes the height of precosity with the height of simplicity. For myself I am busied with the greatest multiplicity of occupations ever imagined, but generally reducible to the one great head of Loafing.
