User-Contributed Transcription Richmond Me. Dec. 15th 1845.Dear Mother I take pen and paper, just now, not really in order to write you a letter, for I hardly think I ought to, considering that I have written at least two sheets full, whether it will do to call them letters, is an other thing! to Milo since I have heard a single word from there; Also I have already written two or three letters tonight, and it is now half past ten oclock and I must finish, so as to send them all to Gardiner tomorrow morning, by Esquire Mitchell. What I want is this ~ that you and Lucy should write to me, which you must acknowledge is no more than fair, all things considered. Secondly that for Convenience sake you should direct letters for me to Gardiner, rather than to Richmond, and moreover to the care of P.S. Mitchell. Care of P.S. Mitchell Esq. Gardiner, MaineI am teaching School in Richmond, in which town there
