But then it is worth a little extra exertion.It is very possible that I might have made more money at Turner, or by going there a while, for I had the prospect of pretty good writing school there, might perhaps have got 30 or 40 dollars in that way.However other advantages more than counter balance that. I hardly know what my school here is to be. It is a new affair, two or three districts united, and I am to have the best scholars selected from all, any where from 40 to 50 of them.I think I shall have a good sort of school, though the village has rather a bad reputation in that respect and there are doubtless many troublesome ones. The wages though small for a school of the character, are three or four dollars per Month higher than paid here before. M. L. Morse, now A.N., late Prs. Ath. Soc. Bowd. Coll. very fine man, helped me get the school, procured me his old boarding place. he taught in Topsham last winter, boarded here, and is now engaged to one of the young ladies here in the house! Of course, I run no risk of such of such a fate! Commencement was perhaps better than usual. It would take two or three sheets to give you an account of it. I will send you a paper with the story sometime in the week. E.L. Browne performed a part, lowest rank, but decent. Mrs. Browne, Frank & Liz Quimby were here. I only saw them a little while.
