User-Contributed Transcription are two Post Offices, but one of them is 7 miles from me, the other 4 miles, and just about no communication with either place. Gardiner is 6 or 7 miles distant, but the communication is frequent & easy. Moreover J. L. Mitchell Esq., the agent who employs me, and lives next door to my boarding place in Richmond, is a Merchant of Gardiner, Firm Mitchell & Wilson. He rides over to Gardiner every morning, and back every evening pretty regularly. He has kindly offered to take charge of my letters and so forth, for the winter, whereby I shall receive them every day regularly, I staid at Turner a week or more after my school was done, studying some, loafing some etc. etc. Went to Brunswick the 10th, with $60,00 nearly in my pocket, staid two days, arrived here the 12th with about $3,00 of it left, and not paid my term bills either! Sat. went to Richmond Vill. to be examined, I guess I want much!! and to my Boarding place. Sunday. Walked to Richmond Corner 4 miles to Meeting and had a fine storm to return in.Monday 15th, today, Rain & Snow. Began School 32 scholars, every prospect of a pleasant school. Besides Commencing school, have written, this
