User-Contributed Transcription Samuel, I wrote to Eliab about sending some money last week or the week before. I did not get it myself till Friday. And then it was all in small bills. Most convenient to be sure for two or three hundred dollars that I had to pay out here $100.00 I sent to Manchester Saturday to get a Cheque or large Bill for the small ones and will send on to you in some form tomorrow or next day probably. When I shall have more I hardly know; ought to have early in October. Will take pleasure in sending to you whatever or whenever I have ' any thing crev?! occasionally when or if you want. I am in the way of spending considerable money for the Corporation nowadays, and they may think that they happen to be short that if they do not shell over quite enough for my own pay too; that I can get along. You have made quite extensive repairs upon the Senator. have you not? Isn't it rather risky, such old craft as that? Tues. Morn. Enclosed you will find Draft from Manchester Bank on Trader's Bank Boston for one hundred dollars, payable to my order I endorsed to you, which I obtained yesterday. I.S. Metcalf
