All the Old fashioned terrible diseases are going out of fashion before them. Almost every body nowadats is attacked with something of the kind upon any change of life.Hardly any one of my party except myself has escaped more or less of sickness from such attacks.Any change of boarding place will frequently bring it on. For my part I eat everything with great appetite and much supply of health & strength.Fruit of all kinds is extremely abundant this year. I judge from your remarks upon Gov. Briggs and Prof. Webster that you are Anti Cap. Punishment. But to me you come to the wrong place for sympathy. Did you not know that I am a determined advocate of Cap. Punishment for Murder. I believe in it religiously I do the Bible. It is part of my creed. Those opposed to it are at least in bad company. Prof. Upham is the only opponent I know with whom I should like to be associated. I am too proud to join the Universalists & other so called "Liberals" of the nowadays who make up the party. Not that I took my side on those ground. I think, that it was upon a thorough & candid examination of the whole case. Well I have made out quite a letter, more than I expected and very badly blotted. You must write to me soon and frequently.This day I did not go to Newport to Church, but staid here to a Free Will Bap. two or three ignorant Elders in the pulpit.
