User-Contributed Transcription Bangor September 3rd 1839Dear MotherI am here again at my old stand, although not yet hardly settld in business I suppose that Joseph has got home by this time, and can inform you of all our doings. I thought it would be best to have the wool here and I might be able to sell it sometime; it is now safely stored away up garret. Hardy any one wanted to buy wool, it had fallen at Boston and New York, and they said they have lost money by what they had bought, 33 and a third seemed the common price, but at Campbell and Mils, I was offered 37 half. I thought Charles would not be willing to have it sold at that price and that it had better stay here.On going to school this morning, the scholars all appeared glad to see me again, more afraid they had lost me so, but Mr. Worcester said never a word till the Latin Class were called, he heard all before me, and then addressed me thus; "Isaac, you left school before the close of the term, and according to the regulations of the Committee, I have no authority to admit to the school, without a certificate from Mr. Abbot, C.L.L.B."At recess I left the school and went over to Mr. Abbots office. After inquiring into the particulars of the case, he very readily gave me a certificate of readmission.[bottom of page upside down] Perhaps James would be glad of the chance to take a letter or bundle[left-hand side] I suppose I could send anything to Boston next week by James. He will probably go next week Wed. Possibly not till the next bout a week. If you could send me a letter here I could send it by him-easily.
