User-Contributed Transcription cant feel like saying our meeting house perhaps it is because I dont feel right. We shall probably not have any more Congregational preaching in this town at present if ever I had a very good letter from Sister Conant last week notwithstanding the very small opportunity she ever had for getting any education I think there are very few women 71 years old that write so good a letter. She informed me that Aunt Humphrey My own Mothers youngest sister is dead. But one of my Grandfather Mayos 12 children remain that is Aunt Hazeltine who is 86 years old. Maj. Gale Charles uncle is dead - Brother Joseph's widow & Mariah live on the old homestead . I love the old place and rejoice in the idea that it is not sold to strangers I do want to see it once again & to see sisters once more If I could go, & could meet Brother Humphrey there how nice it would be. I suppose the children at Bangor have written to you all about Moving into the new house & how Lucy got tir'd and sick. And the great Lumbering opperation Samuel is engaged in, in company with another man Mr. Bradeen - inn? being as he expected some $15000, it seems that it must be a great risk for him but he feel pretty confident of success Probably Eliab feels rather anxious now a days will be married I suppose in the ensuing winter or Spring but has not got it fully settled in his mind what he shall do for a living and where he shall locate himself - will probably board with Lucy this winter or till he gets married but will be not earning anything
