May looked rather sorry & sad when the last letter came and there was nothing directed to her. She is out of doors a good part of the time. She has eaten very little cake or candy. She has bought pea nuts several times. She reads some every day and usually writes some. She has been reading Pilgrims Prog. & the Little Prudy Books. I bought some gingham and am making a dress for her, a cool one for this very warm weather. Father thinks there never was such warm weather in Yarmouth before. Fanny has raspberry shrub that is very nice to drink, diluted with water. The juice is squeezed from the berries. 1 Lb sugar to 1 pint juice, just as for jelly, and boiled 15 minutes, stirring the while & then bottled. In haste your own Nettie.
