What rainy weather you have, and here is has not rained enough to lay the dust since I came, three weeks ago this day. The birds are singing delightfully this morning. There is a warm wind and the air so sultry that one feels languished. May & I have had a ride, and she is gone now with her uncle. She enjoys the riding exceedingly. I know it is quite an undertaking to leave the children - the older ones especially. I had thought that Wilder perhaps would be permitted to stay with Charles, and Charlie, if he was faithful about the chores, could stay with Percie some of the time.
