One day Old Mary got loose somehow, and went all about the lane and the Biggs lot with her halter dragging, & Mr Waldo cought her and put her in the barn. I wish I was in Ills. with you - I try to help mother. I have piled up a good deal of wood for Charlie Rich, and Wilder & I helped Gertrude set the table. I am trying to learn not to strike anybody. Wilder and I went to Aunty Jenney's to carry a letter and to Aunt Anna's to get a book and the rains cought us and we got our pants wet. O the flowers are out, but not a great many and some little red berries in the grove, but not very big. Your little boy, Charlie -
