User-Contributed Transcription Bangor Jan. 20th /57Dear Children,Sam'l says you could not find my keys to open the Bureau Drawer I presume you'll find them in my old work basket in the closet in my room that is where I generally keep them I don't believe Isaac cares much about those old books that S. brought down - But probably there are some papers in the drawer that he wants, & memorandum Book &cDid S. say anything about matching yarn he told me some time ago that he would rather you would let him have stocking yarn than pay him money for those things as it was not so easy to get it at Minnesota but it was before he knew that Almeda had sent any I have footed 3 pr & there is enough to knit 3 pairs & I suppose that will do but if you have any that you don't want to use this winter I guess you had better send it - that Almeda sent is very poor uneven & so slack twisted As to the Secretary I should be glad on Sam'ls account to have you take it but it is a great heavy thing and
