User-Contributed Transcription Elyria Lorain CountyApril 28th /56I believe you owe me a letter Charles but I will not for it before writing again to you - because of Lucys being not well I expect to go home sooner than I should perhaps if all had been well. Anna is going with me and she can go to be gone in May & June better than later in the season because Miss Treadway a friend of hers who is teaching & boards here can take care of the children She expects to be here only till the first week in JulyWe think now of starting about the 19th of May - Anna wants to visit at Dunbarton on our way will not be at Milo probably till the forepart of june The Dr will go after her about the middle of June perhapsThe Dr. - Anna & I took a ride Saturday 15 or 20 miles to Carlyle, Laport & Ridgeville it is a beautiful country about here - It looks as if it must be much easier for Farmers to get a living here than in Maine
