User-Contributed Transcription Milo Nov 10 1847Dear Brother JosephI this day received your letter and in answer will say that I am veryh-e-e-m-mMy Dear Son As Almeda made her letter so shortI will write a little to tell you that I want you should take careof Eliabs health if he wont take care of it himself. I don't think he'sfit to go back but he will - he has evidently "the Liver complaint"a real dose of calomel or some such active medicine mightnow throw it off - perhaps shall send you three or four of my very stoutgloves? we sold some to Mr. Bunker at 2/ should send the rest there butAlbina wants to get with them some paper to paper the kitchenwhich Mr Bunker hasn't got - if you can't change them for thepaper just put them in the bundle & send em backor do sell them as you please.If you send any more pants to make put in more thread, worth2/6 or 3/ to make em but Albina says she would be glad to makesome more for 2/ per pair rather than not make, for the sake ofpaying debt. If you have time for it I wish you write a long letter all about your journey to Boston your success in yourbusiness and whatever you are willing to retake in regard toyourself make haste to send home whatever news youget from Isaac - may the blessing of God attend you andkeep you from every evil goodbye
