User-Contributed Transcription Mother Bangor Me.July 22 56Dunbarton Bangor July 22nd / 56My Dear Children I feel as if I must wrote some to you tho' I believe I have written to you since I have had any letter from you But I read one from you to Eliab a few days ago. I can write you no good news of Lucy. Poor dear Lady I cannot begin to tell you how much she suffers you know how she was when you were here it seems to me she has been growing worse - Suffering more & more ever since tho' not all the time alike. She has had spells of very acute pain in her side which lasts 1, 2 or 3 days & then subsides a little leaving her weak & languid her cough & raising continues about the same only of late 2 weeks it causes such excruciating pain in her left shoulder& vomiting 3 or 4, or 6 or 8 times a day & it is so distressing when she does tis so hard we
