I wish you could see it --dear birdie I feed it by doubling a little fine rag & out one end in its mouth & let the other lay in a Teaspoon of cream & water till she sucks it all out which one teaspoonful once an hour is all I give her at onceHow wonderful that I can take the care of it - necessity - you know The little thing seems well performs all the functions of babyhood I wash'd it all over (except the bowels) this morning & drest it you cannot think how difficult it is to keep it warm (I have a fire on purpose) I have an old soft silk Hkf around its feet a silk Hkf too for a blanket with a flannel one over it it is a very perfect Child - has a very pretty face We have a strong capable Nurse who takes care of Lucy & I devote my time to baby - but with fear & trembling almost it is so little
