User-Contributed Transcription Thursday morning24th Lucy remains a little more comfortable slept last night better than she has for considerable time. I feel some encourag'd about her as I have a day or two at a time often before. O if it could but last I suppose you have been inform'd that Charles & albina came down made us a good visit on the 8th stay'd 2 nights9th Mr. Rider Almeda (& Elbridge to bring them) came Lucy got very tir'd before they got fixt away to Boston Mr. R. decided to go & see Dr. Green of Boston I have great fears that he had better not have gone & it is very strange that we have not heard from them yet I have got very weary sometimes not but that the spirit has been always willing but I feel pretty well now and able to do what L needs & it is so much pleasanter for her & me than for anybody else to
