User-Contributed Transcription late Tuesday evening I have just got your letter & Charles's am very glad to hear that Mary is better hope she'll be really well by the time you get this - You tell of giving her charcoal I should think it might be good a very little of it if you could get it fine enough but I don't see how you can with any means you have there it ought to be as fine as possible or it might do injuryThe Dr was in today he thinks Percie is getting well Ellen has got a very bad cold has not been able to do any thing since Sunday morning has been taking an emetic I guess she'll be better tomorrow - Eliab started for Boston yesterday we expect him back Saturday & Hattie Ely with him If we are all well they'll get mov'd next week I guess - Better send Charlie by the first of the week after perhapsSo Charles has determined on coming right home it seems - perhaps it may be all for the best - but I think it very probable that he will be regreting it all winter - If he gets through the winter without being sick I am sure I shall be glad to have him at home but I think we have not much reason to think he will - but let us hope & trust that all will be welllove to Walter & Sally and all the folksfrom your affectionate motherI don't see why you wont all live there this winter if C does come home each family by yourselves thousands of families live more crowded than that would be i.e. if they want to
