User-Contributed Transcription year besides supporting a minister The people are merely farmers no kind of manufacturing done in town There is not even a grist mill the land tho' good perhaps is certainly very rocky & hard to cultivate & yet the people appear not only well off, but richThey have a contribution regularly every 2 months in support of six different benevolent societies and doubtless are as a people the richer for it - they have a prayer meeting every tuesday in the vestry a few steps from here - besides which a few Devoted Christians have kept up a meeting one evening in the week in the Pastors Study constantly for over 30 years their custom is always to have 3 prayers one for theirselves and families, one for the Church and people of the town & one for all mankind
