User-Contributed Transcription work at all hazards. She went out this P.M. and picked up under the trees three heaped-full baskets of apples. I asked her this morning if she thought father was thinking about his little May. She said,"No, he is thinking about his Coal Mines." Charlie Rich has taken care of the sweet Potatoes & hoed some. Worked over beans some, &c. Hattie DeWhitt was here Friday and spent most of the day. Anna was here Thursday. Herbert and Jennie called this P.M. Mr Hitchcock sent for the grapes & a bushel of peaches. left some on the tree for Herbert, but before he got them, somebody else did. We have had frost two mornings, but not severe. The balsams and cypress vine look forlorn, but I do not see as it injured any thing else.Sorry for the sick people out
