Charles says with an air of confidence that a year from next fall he shall be out of debt - seems to think he shall sell off his cattle next fall and work out in the winter - but he has got I don't know how much to pay this spring (the Chase debt can lay I suppose but at 25 per cent interest) I don't know but I guess there are 50 or more $ perhaps besides - he worked 6 weeks for Holmen & Sargent at 28 pr month with which he expects to pay Mr. Chase as far as as it will go but I am very much afraid he'll get disappointed about getting it. Everett has all Hector's concern in his hands. Hector has as he expresses it made a league with the Devil (meaning Everett) however C. says that they have certainly made a good winters work and
