User-Contributed Transcription Mrs. Watson Cottagegrove MinMarch 5 1864 Cottage Grove. March 5th / 64"Have pity upon me, O ye my friends for the hand of God hath touched me". We feel that we can ask for sympathy from you, dear friends, for your own hearts have bled as ours are now bleeding. Our darling little Olive has gone. Last Thursday we laid the dear dust down in the cold earth and how desolate seems our home without her. I did not know till she was gone how much she filled my heart - too much perhaps, and a loving father has taken her to himself to know that it is better for her, gone in all her innocence, and we try to think of her as she is in the presence of Jesus but it is hard to look away from our own sorrow. There is such a sense of want. "A stillness aching round." She was taken sick the first [left-hand side]Tell little May that Ollie always remembered and talked of her.
