User-Contributed Transcription E. had a letter from Isaac last night he has a proposal to sell his right of mining/coal at Du Coign and an offer of a situation there Salary 1500.00 a year all which he will have told you. Eliab says he ought to, & probably can do better than that It seems doubtful whether they could enjoy good health there that I guess he will not stay there.Sam'l is now gone to Milo & Brownville I expect him home today if he comes I will write you the news from there - He and Eliab have made a trade E. has bought his situation here all his interest in the store &c. Poor Sam'l how unfortunate he has been But he is a Man what is a Man as the boys say and will do well yet - indeed he has always done wellI have some fears for E. it is a great undertaking for him to carry on a business involving nearly a hundred thousand a year he says even if he can succeed in paying up his debts - He says they have 4000, more due to them than they owe but a considerable part of it they probably will never get
