User-Contributed Transcription MotherMay. 15 '58Bangor May 15 /58Dear FolksWe arriv'd here about 10 P.M. this morning by the "Daniel Webster, from Portland by R.R. from Boston there - We slept at the "United States,, thursday night I took dinner with Mr. Child - Samuel went out to NewtonI want to know whether Percie has been a real good - & whether he performs his promise every day - am thinking to get him an outside garment - have seen some that I like'd made of light cloth, like that you've got for your Cloak Anna & cut just like gentleman loose overcoats like that Mr. Jenkins wears they look very well - but I forgot to take his measure as I intended. I suspect I left a nice lace veil that was Lucy's I have no recollection of seeing when I put up my things - I have not unpack'd yet
