User-Contributed Transcription Mother Bangor Nov. 20 1856Elyriawould be quite gone - but perhaps he'll not go far away & take Percie with him I think he will go to Minnesota next spring or summer but I have a fancy that he will not like there enough to go there to live. I am sorry I was not here when he pack'd his things to send away I fear he sent some things that you would rather not have - than to pay even the transportation - I have not heard a word said about the prices of the articles he sentHe occupies the new chamber over the kitchen tis a very pretty chamber & newly furnish'd it has the secretary that was in the sitting room - the Bureau that was in Lucy's bedroom the Clock, sink that was in the parlor chamber is has a large closet with shelves & 2 longer drawers - a little stove, a window in the roof on the South side. The beautiful Doves that Lucy thought so much of are all gone away I cant think why unless it was that the noise of the Carpenter frightened them away you know they had 7 sent from Boston last spring & they had one left of the others - but they are all gone.I suppose S. & E are somewhat troubled about paying a large note in Boston about this time but they dont say much about it & so we dont ask them probably they'll get thro' with it somehow as they have done before
