Summary Report, dated June 14, 1756, written by the commissioners to the Governor of Pennsylvania (Robert Morris) regarding the protection of the frontier against hostile Indians.  The commissioners further recommend specific measures be adopted to ensure the security of the western settlements. 
Biographical/Historical Note Chief justice of New Jersey and lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania. Appointed to the Pennsylvania post by John Penn, Morris' term was marked by his clash with the Pennsylvania Assembly over its refusal to vote funds for the protection of the frontier against the French and Indians.  He resigned in 1756.
