Summary Letters, dated Sept. 11 and Oct. 24, 1823, from Jean Baptiste Beaubien in Chicago, to Mr. Oliver N. Bostwick, agent for the American Fur Company  in St. Louis, concerning orders for goods. In his letter of Sept. 11, 1823, Beaubien asks Bostwick to fill the order he has sent with Mr. Leonard as quickly as possible; and makes additional requests for flour (if it is not too expensive), and lead shot (if it is available). On Oct. 24th, Beaubien acknowledges receipt of the merchandise he requested.  He asks Bostwick to act promptly on filling other orders, and mentions that the garrisoned troops are to leave Chicago on the 24th.  He concludes by extending his regards to Samuel Abbott, another American Fur Company agent.
