Summary May 31, 1901, letter from M.T. Spooner, a farmer employed by the Office of Indian Affairs at the Standing Rock Agency, to Gen. Nelson A. Miles, regarding Miles' council meeting with Sitting Bull in Montana during the military campaign that followed the Battle of Little Big Horn. Spooner, who was in charge of Sitting Bull's old followers, relayed the story told by Has Horns, that Sitting Bull and his braves had planned to kill Miles and his officers.  They refrained after Waubliska (White Eagle) argued that a surprise attack during a peaceful meeting would be cowardly.  Spooner hoped that Miles might send Waubliska "a letter or some little thing."
