Summary Mar. 22-29, 1836, letter from Henry Steel to his brother and an unnamed sister or sister-in-law in Pennsylvania, regarding his illness and self-treatment; his deep interest in the Choctaw people and the progress of religious instruction among them; and his own preparations to leave his post and continue his missionary work under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church. Steel also reports that twelve new missionaries have already been sent to the Choctaws and four more are expected.
