Biographical/Historical Note Ellyzabeth Adler is a multidisciplinary artist, dancer, dance teacher and educator, and Executive Director of Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble (CDE). Adler grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; she remained in Chicago after earning a BFA in Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Adler founded CDE in 2001. Since then CDE has created 39 original performance works, with themes dedicated to social justice and to inspiring positive change in the world through performance. She also mentors younger dancers through CDE’s Books Alive and Poetry Alive programs. (2024)
