Biographical/Historical Note
Billy Siegenfeld is the founder and artistic director of Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, having developed the company’s foundational techniques, Standing Down Straight and Jump Rhythm, based on anatomical/gravitational approaches to movement and rhythm. Siegenfeld is a musician and teacher, with a background in musical theater, and in jazz, modern, and tap dance techniques. Siegenfeld earned a Master’s degree in Dance from New York University; he's currently a Professor of Theater in the School of Communication at Northwestern University. (2024)
