Printed form filled in; official seal (wax over paper) of the State of Georgia attached with string. 
Summary Georgia land grant dated Jan. 15, 1828 to Michael Hansome and signed by Governor John Forsyth. Located in Lee County, Hansome received tract No. 191.  Document also includes a small plat drawing. 
Biographical/Historical Note The Treaty of Indian Springs (1825) with the Creek Indians opened up a large area of western Georgia for settlement. From this acquisition five new counties were formed.  A lottery system was used to freely distribute the land to Georgians by lot, generally 202 and a half acres each.
