Summary Dec. 2, 1855, letter from gold seeker N.A.A. Eaton on Wolf Creek in Sierra County, California, to his brother, Lute, probably in New Hampshire or Massachusetts. In the letter, written on a printed 1854 lettersheet containing "Hutching's California scenes. The California Indians" on p. [4], Eaton comments on the continual movements of his brothers and sisters and the possibility of a family reunion; his efforts to make money mining; the excellent prospects for farming in the California valleys; and his future plans -- either settling on the California coast or returning to New Hampshire.  Eaton also notes that he has seen many Indians since his arrival and mentions Indian wars occuring in Oregon and California.
