E.H. Blatchford Esq.
My dear Sir,

I wrote you a few days since that I had just telegraphed you to send me a draft for Mr Botsford's $5,000. as the balance of my income up to January, was much smaller than I expected. Julia has since heard from Mr Bradley that you have reinvested the money. I must again express my astonishment at your re-investing any of my private capital without first consulting me or giving me the option of employing it in other ways. As I require this money as soon as possible, I rely upon you to procure it for me, I said in my previous letter (as it may never have reached you I will repeat it) that perhaps the Estate could take up the loan & advance the sum. At all events I require the money and de-sire you to telegraph me as soon as you have sent the draft.

We leave for Geneva to-morrow expect-ing to reach Paris the 15th of April. I am there-fore in great haste.
