Summary Indenture, Sept. 29, 1668, between John Pyle, butcher, and Edward Gisbey, husbandman, of Istleworth, Middlesex County, Eng., concerning the three-year lease to Gisbey of specified lands owned by Pyle for the annual rent of eight pounds, seven shillings, and nine pence. Included are provisions for payment and non-payment, and requirements for the fertilization and upkeep of the property. On the verso of the document are various endorsements, attestations, and notes, including a Jan., 1673, record of Edward Gisbey's payments and a further agreement regarding digging on the property. The document is witnessed by John Slood, Charles Woorsley, and Jno. Banister.
