Dear Rose:
You have been constantly in my thoughts ever since I read the incredible news on Sunday. The deep sympathy that I feel comes from my heart and from my own experience these past six aching months.
I live quietly in the country taking care of unfinished details, but I do have to go into New York occasionally - staying at Essex House. If you should ever want to pick up the threads of an old friendship, I would be very happy.
Dear Ben -- the only thing I can say is thank God that he was spared the terrible indignity of a long illness, so terrifying for a great and vital man.
Sincerely,
Carlota Reiner
(Irwin)
[Mrs. Fritz]
