Dear Rose,
I hope by the time you receive this you will be settled down to your new endeavor sans government vulchers and etc.
Marion and yours truly are again at it for the finish. We have some real interesting humorous and historic stories in the final chapters. I purposely omitted the horrors of war and leaned toward the lighter side of comedy of errors and human situations of the unusual in most places. A conformist I was not thus never rose to colonel as many of my friends who I felt had less to offer. Working with the men meant more to me than prestige or money. I lived to the fullest with no regrets.
Rose I hope its understood that anyone who you would chose to be the guiding agent would receive the usual renumerance for their assistance. I leave this to your control. I hope I did not cause you an additional worry and burden, this I don't wish. Your friendship is worth more to methan Fort Knox.
