Dear Rose Hecht:
The world is full of wonders, the most recent of them, and quite the nicest, being your note to me. During all the years of my admiration for Ben, and my joy in his existence even though I so rarely saw him, it never once occured to me that he read my books, let alone liked them; and that you did likewise.
Thank you for telling me. I shall always treasure your words, as I shall my memory of that crazy day in Chicago.
